“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” John 3:19
The path of unforgiveness.
The journey into darkness.
The slope of destruction.
Many travel this road. Often it’s a slow fade. The traveler never realizes the dangers of the journey. Daily a choice exists – go deeper into the darkness or do an about face and head toward the pinhole of light, a place of restoration, reconciliation. Only the brave return to the light.
People love darkness rather than light. Deep heaviness weights unwelcome backpacks, making travel difficult, even loathsome.
So what keeps us in the tight fisted clutch of unforgiveness? What pleasure is derived there? Payback. Revenge. One-upmanship. Independence. Protection.
These actions erect walls. Walls cut off life, love, family, friendship, marriage – the end of what God designed for good.
A cycle of hurt.
A journey not worth taking.
A lifetime of regrets.
What choice will be made?
