John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

“Have It Your Way.” Burger King used this slogan for 40 years. In keeping up with the trends, they scrapped the phrase and replaced it with, “Be Your Way.” A generation of “me centered” beings have embraced this philosophy with great gusto. The result – egotism and narcissism have skyrocketed to new levels.

Reality electrocutes the individual who receives a pink slip, whose prodigal doesn’t return, spouse cheats, or who receives a grave diagnosis. What happens when we don’t get life our way? Anger, cynicism, retaliation, even murder, are some of the possibilities.

In the fast food world we may purchase what we want, how we want, and in a time frame that suits us. But in daily living, we don’t order from a a cosmic drive through. Our omnipotent God refuses to cater to our every whim, and withhold all the suffering and traumas life deals us. His wisdom is infinite and His way is best. His desire is for us to serve Him, not attend to our every desire.

When catchy slogans fail, He hears our cries, and waits patiently for us to cry out Him. Only He can fulfill our deepest longings. He is the only Way.
